Catherine R. Laporte, began her career in music after working in corporate America as a Day-to-Day office executive for KG Land and Kumagai Gumi, realestate developers of some of New York City 's most prominent buildings which shape the NYC skyline. With a degree in Psychology and Business, she then went on to secure a BA in Music Business. As a recording artist manager she has worked on projects with swing jazz legends ( America 's first dance music), Panama Francis, Bill Doggett and others. Her contemporary dance artists include European dance Diva, Taborah. Having gained her marketing experience with Sony Music, and a stint with performing rights leader, BMI she began her own Events management company where she produced and managed mega events such as The World's Largest Block Party, and Pop Kids Care to name a few. She has served as a Coordinator for music not-for-profits such as The Rhythm & Blues Foundation, and MusiCares Person of the Year Dinner in association with the Grammy Awards, and much more. Recognized in the Congressional Record for her work which integrates community service, public service, media and business with style and flair, Catherine has been named the Executive Director and Events Manager for the Dance Music Hall of Fame Induction Awards Week 2005. She brings with her a keen sense of attention-to-detail and experience of blending not for profit goals and objectives in ways which benefit the community and public at large. claporte@dmhof.com
